Educational program

At Joshua Center we work mainly to avoid school dropout or non-schooling at the basic, upper secondary and higher levels in the northern Ladrilleras community and surrounding areas, where children generally entered school for the first time around the age of 8, entering the primary school without any prior formal education.
Family Strengthening

Human Development from training in Values and risk prevention: gradually incorporating the approach and knowledge of fundamental human rights (education, life without violence, participation and inclusion), incorporating in a easier way the work with fathers and mothers of family - in a differentiated way in its identity and role- given its importance in the formative aspect.
In general, and due to this serious educational backwardness, bullying and discrimination, they left school after a couple of years without the opportunity to complete primary education, much less advance towards middle / higher education. Although we are not a school recognized as such by the authorities, the Joshua Education Center is currently their only educational option.
We promote learning through 8 areas in order to have a coverage of children, teens and adults. The methodology that we have developed through experience is practical and tailored to each student.

The topics are developed in the classroom of the Joshua Center and we also go to their homes to offer children and young people:
Preschool tutorials
Primary tutorials
High School tutorials
Literacy for children
Literacy at home
High school counseling
Consulting in the open education system

Human development workshops for children, adolescents, teens and adults on topics such as prevention of violence, addictions, sexual abuse, coping with emotions and empowerment.
We count with a surveillance committee made up of residents of the settlement, inviting and training parents so that they can make recommendations to improve the activities and their community in general. This structure, composed of both the Raramuri and mestizo population, allows us to take into account the recommendations and needs of our beneficiaries in the planning of activities and new programs.
